I remember being a child who knew nothing about the world. And the closest encounter was of me laying on my father’s lap listening to the ongoing conflict happening. We had no smartphones nor TV. I was simply a child who played all day long in the street, dirty face and feet, ripped shirt and jeans, skipping ropes, and singing songs.
Like women's bodies, the Ocean is a feminized body and space. There is so much movement in feminized spaces and bodies, but so much restriction. This project is one that looks at feminine bodies in and of the Pacific Ocean, and that creates something creative while also commenting critically on female/feminized bodies and issues of suppression, sensuality, and freedom, etc.

Our second workshop took place on the campus of George Mason University and was presented to participants in the Indonesia-U.S. Youth Leadership program.
Our first workshop was presented in partnership with the Alliance for Multicultural Community Services Kijana Scholars program. The goal for this workshop and for future workshops is to work with youth and encourage them to tell their stories.
