The Narratio Workshops encourages the young participants to challenge the definition of a story and its impact on the writer. Through empowerment templates, young storytellers can practice different approaches to describe themselves and their environment. This allows for room to interpret significance in objects, memories, and locations.

I am from warm neighborhoods with warmer weather. I am from fried comfort foods both Indian and Southern. I am from culture of my family and culture of my friends. I am from prayer for more gods than my own. I am from music. I am from the differences I wasn’t always aware of.

I am from the blue rolling hills of Mississippi’s mirror twin. I am from...the nostalgia, peace, and greenery of my childhood. I am from...the make-believe worlds surrounded by the fall leaves at sunset. I am from...imaginary realms of childlike innocence, where fairies fly free and unicorns exist. Where dolls come to life, and have minds of their own. I am from..too many honeysuckle bushes to count, and fireflies at sunset.
