Photography in and around Ritsona

“I chose to focus my photography project on the subject of nature because where I come from, Afrin, is full of nature and trees. It looks so similar to it here.” - Şhyar

The American photographer Aaron Siskind described photography as ‘…a way of feeling, of touching, of loving’. Şhyar and his friend Hesen have used photography to do just that. By documenting the nature found in Ritsona camp, something which reminds them of their beloved Afrin, they found a way of connecting to their homeland.
