My Mom.

My Mom is the light that shines through me.

My Mom is the one thing I have to live for.

My Mom is the one person that truly cares for me.

My Mom does everything she possibly can just for me.

My Mom is my heart.

My Mom is my one true love and always will be.

My Mom is what stops me from going crazy.

My Mom is the reason why I am who I am today.

My Mom will always be my mom and nothing or anyone will ever change that. No matter the ups and downs we have I love her with all my heart.

I am going to do my best to support her in anyway I possibly can,

Because she deserves the best and that’s what I’m going to give her.

My name is Thalya Baptiste. I am 13 years old, and I live in Newark, New Jersey. I am a very down-to-earth and calm person. But in reality, I am usually stressed even though I am at such a young age; sometimes I feel like the weight of the world is on my shoulders. My brother doesn’t really have time to help out around the house and neither does my mom or dad, so I basically do all the chores and clean the house along with my sister-in-law, who also goes to work everyday. On top of that, I have school. I am an high-honor roll student and I have a certain reputation. I expect myself to do well, and anything other than that isn’t acceptable. Those aren’t my school’s standards, those are mine. But through all the stress and gray hairs, writing helps. Writing as always been my escape. Whenever I write I feel like I'm in a room by myself with my journal just writing. I could do that forever. I would do that forever.
