Humble

Nails dig deep into flesh desperately seeking a new beginning

Wanting to shed despair and memories that cling like a second skin

If only like a reptile I can remove this heavy coat that weighs me down

Making each step heavier than the last

And rise out a refreshed soul eager to face the world anew

And though the stains of my past would forever remain on my mind

I can look forward to leaving the past behind….Rebirth!
