Our flagship program, the Narratio Fellowship, is the only U.S.-based initiative building cohorts of resettled refugee youth Fellows to shape and influence the global conversation around displacement and cultural production.

The year-long, annual program links artists with immigrant backgrounds together with refugee youth Fellows to explore and represent the full range of their experiences and those of their communities through multimedia projects.

2021 Cohorts

Narratio Fellows are resettled refugee youth aged 17-21, all undergoing some academic transition from high school to college or from community college to university.

Each summer, they come together for a month-long, full-time intensive focused on a particular storytelling medium. The artist-in-residence, always a refugee or immigrant themselves, designs the month-long intensive with support from Narratio leadership and community partners. By the end of the month-long intensive, each Fellow has a creative piece for performance, exhibit, and/or publication. These pieces are then shared across local and national audiences via our network of partners across media, academia, and the arts.
