Because they are part of our diversity. -ILO
Job (UN) Fair is a video series that was created by the International Labor Organization-Jakarta and Kampung Halaman, a non-profit based in Yogjakarta, Indonesia. The series seeks to expose the challenges that people with disabilities face in their search for employment.
This particular installment of the series opens up with a young man at a job fair, who proceeds to visit several company booths.
At each both, he asks whether the company has openings for disabled persons. The answer is almost always a no.
The video then shifts to a group of individuals, as they describe their occupation, and how those with disabilities are regarded in the workforce.
SAMA video diaries seeks to outline the struggles that these individuals endure in an effort to incite change in public policy.
Narratio is proud to showcase this video series to North America, as the issues discussed in the video are universal, and we are all united by our struggles.
Follow the story of the discriminated, and hear the voice of the unheard.
