Glitter/Dust

Glitter/Dust

"The stars are always there; you just have to look for them,"

Makes me wonder, about my star stuff, like

Can I still wear my heart on my sleeve, if I left it on the table

When, all my wrists show, are mere legacies forged in blue and purple?

Do you still have glitter and glory, running in your veins, or is it dust, and dew?

Can one pick your heart off the table,

And love it, leave it, or shatter it?

Do soft things ever break?

And if one's got a hard heart, can one really love,

Or even feel an emotion, run through the glitter and dust?

Sure, it's not shrouded in the dark,

And there's acceptance, and love,

With efforts.

Because nobody is easy to love. Nobody.

It is not caged, never was.

And it knows that loving and leaving are only as difficult as we make it to be

Only as big a deal as we make them to be.

It still loves, freely.

Knows the exact words to tell you, when you're sad...

...or not.

There's perfectly comfortable, and even the awkward silences.

But, will all of itself, it loves.
