The Road I Traveled
Inspired by Robert Frost' "The Road Not Taken"
My mind wanders from room to room. I wonder when this pain will ever end. Why do I have to
live in fear, that my life may not stand the test of another day.
You look at me, and see a happy soul. You see a kind heart, a smart mind, and a gorgeous smile,
but you do not know the real pain I feel inside...
Laughter. I laugh to hide all the turmoil inside my soul. I chuckle the day away because I know
you see my insecurities, but maybe if I laugh a little more you won't notice. Haha, how silly
right?
Why can't I just be normal?
Everyone follows along the same worn path. The road less traveled... I used to wonder where
this road was that Frost talked about. I pondered this because I wanted to go to this road myself.
Laugh at the wrong path that everybody took, and walk alone. Now I see that perhaps I've
already chosen my road. A road less traveled, not just by a few, but by only one. Myself
Some people think that I am the most confident person in the world. That confidence is nothing
but a cloak over my fragile heart. Though I may be considered by others as many things, I have
only one role: To just be me
I took the road less traveled, and that has made all the difference.
