Ziplines

Ziplines

Ziplines can be terrifying and a thrill at the same time. They can burn your hand but give you an astounding view. Only a few have given me a balance of both worlds. Once my family and I went to a very small island of the coast of Mexico. On this island they had a colossal lighthouse that my brother and I climbed up. We then took a zipline down, but instead of sitting straight up and down I was in a suit that made me look like I was flying like superman which made my day after getting stung by a jellyfish.

The day started on the 31st of December when I was awoken from my noisy brother. I had found myself in a cabin of a ship I then briskly reminded myself we were on a cruise and we had stop for the day. My brother and I found our self looking at a couple of teenagers jumping of a lighthouse and down a zipline. Being very curious we begged our parents to buy us a ticket up.

Before we knew it me and my brother were in a very clunky, old and rusty elevator going up the lighthouse. At this point me and my brother were terrified we could barely support our body’s because our legs were shaking so much. The elevator stopped with a bong I look to my side and I see a blinding light, then out off the light a beautiful landscape revealed itself. With much courage in my heart I go first, my brother sighs with relief. I step off to the edge and get hooked on the line with my heart about to come out of my mouth, I close my eyes and jump. I quickly reopen my eyes and find myself flying over hundreds of people waving to me and the wind blowing in my face. My body slows down as I get to the middle, a little after the halfway point I come to a stop about 200 meters before the landing pad.

In the briefing before the actual launch we were informed to turn around and pull ourselves to the end if we were to stop. So I did what I was told and after a good 5 minutes I was about to go on another line after the first line everything went pretty smoothly, in the end I had an incredible experience that I will never forget.
